Healing chickenpox marks

My little boy had chickenpox four weeks ago and his face is badly scarred and marked. Any ideas to heal these deep marks on his skin?

Chicken pox is caused by the virus varicella-zoster. Previously, it was wide spread, but after the introduction of the vaccine a lesser number of cases are coming up. It is recommended that adolescents, adults, and children take two doses of the vaccine varicella.

An individual who becomes infected with chicken pox will exhibit certain signs. The symptoms and signs of chicken pox will vary with each individual. Some of the symptoms are a fever ranging from 100 degrees to 102 degrees Fahrenheit, abdominal pain, sore throat, headache, and an indefinable feeling before the appearance of a rash. During the initial stages, the rash tends to be small with the resemblance of an insect bite. After some time there is the development of it into a blister, which is normally lesser than quarter of an inch in width with a reddish color base filled with a fluid that is clear. Once the blisters have burst they will develop into sores. There sores will finally become dry, which will lead to the formation of scabs. The blistering of skin happens in stages beginning from the face, back or abdomen. The blistering of the skin on the face later spreads to the other parts like the genitals, mouth and scalp.

Chicken pox is a disease that is contagious and can be spread quite easily from one person to another. An individual with chicken pox is considered to be most contagious in the first 2 to 5 days. The person that is infected can spread the virus by talking, laughing, sneezing, and coughing. Children should be given the chicken pox vaccine when they are 12 to 15 months old, and when they are 4 to 6 years old a booster shot should be given. Though the disease does not leave behind permanent chicken pox marks, the patient, especially if he or she is a child, will sometimes scratch the scabs or blisters that may lead to the spreading of the infection through the fingernails and bring about scarring. Therefore, it is important that the nails of the patient are kept short during the infection period. Making use of slightly salted bath water is an effective way on how to sooth the skin and decrease the itching. You could also steep some margosa tree leaves into the water the patient will have bath in to bring relief to the tendency to scratch the skin. For adults who get chicken pox, the marks will usually be more noticeable and darker than the chicken pox scars that happen in childhood. The chicken pox scars are usually crater like and have a darker pigmentation around the skin. However, there are many chicken pox scars treatment methods you could use to fade the scars. Cocoa butter is considered to be an effective chicken pox marks treatment. The cocoa butter should be applied to the scars daily. Cocoa butter is used quite widely to bring down the appearance of stretch marks and scars. It has natural healing properties along with being highly moisturizing.

Another chicken pox scars removal method is by washing the areas that are scarred with an alpha hydroxy cleanser. Alpha hydroxy acids help in exfoliating the skin and bring about the regeneration of skin cells. Therefore, there will be the production of new cells more rapidly as a replacement to the older and scarred skin cells. You could also try using over the counter medication to fade and remove the chicken pox scars. As the scars are much darker compared to the rest of your skin, the cream will slowly lighten them to make it blend in with the normal skin tone. The fade creams should be used regularly for many weeks to see results.

Other chicken pox scar remedies you could make use of are lemon juice and sandalwood paste. An effective way on how to get rid of chicken pox scars fast on the face or other parts of the body is by combining the chicken pox scar removal methods with foods rich in Vitamin K. Vitamin K helps in bringing about better healing and decreases the appearance of the scars. Some of the foods that contain Vitamin K are cabbage, dairy products, liver, broccoli, tomatoes, and spinach. It is also important that you drink enough water to keep your self hydrated, as it will help your skin to remain elastic and will also help with the process of healing. Another one of the effective chicken pox scar removal home remedies is with the use of aloe vera. Aloe vera is well known for its properties of healing. You should apply the aloe vera to the scars that are healing everyday. For better results, you should make use of fresh aloe vera extract. You could also make use of aloe vera lotions and ointments. It is important for you to remember not to pick at the scars during chicken pox as it will cause damage to the skin and make the scars worse.

Try using honey or virgin coconut oil.  They are both good.
