How do I reduce swelling on my eyelid (looks infected from a ingrown hair)?

Well, usually the first thing I do is dampen a face rag in warm water and place it over your infected eye to bring down the swelling. By it being over your eye, it would be kind of hard to pull the ingrown hair out, but if so just be careful, it my be a little irritating.
