Many gallbladder patients are now considering natural gallstone removal rather than surgery. Natural gallstone removal is more cost effective than surgery and less painful as well. More and more people opt for natural gallstone removal because it also has no side effects.
Natural gallstone removal also means that such patients can keep their gallbladder which plays an important role in the digestive process. The gallbladder is situated near the liver and is responsible for storing bile (a digestive juice that is manufactured in the liver). This digestive juice is essential as it aids in digestion and breaks up the fatty food particles. However, bile contains fatty substances like cholesterol and when the amount of cholesterol in bile increases, small crystals are formed. These crystals combine and forms small lumps which are called gallstones. Gallstones can cause considerable pain especially when lodged in the bile duct. Gallstones are usually formed when there is more cholesterol than normal present in the gallbladder. Gallstones give rise to gallbladder symptoms like:-
- Constant fatigue
- Headaches
- A feeling of tenderness in the abdomen.
- A feeling of fullness.
- Gas
- Nausea / vomiting
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Dizziness
- Fever – along with chills and shivering
- Mild pain which starts under the rib cage on the right hand side and this pain may then slowly intensify and spread to other parts of the body, like the shoulder blades.
- Recurrent abdominal pain. A severe attack of abdominal pain is a sign of a serious gallbladder problem and warrants medical attention.
- A bitter taste in the mouth/acid reflux
Gallstone removal without surgery or natural gallstone removal can also be considered treatment for gallstones. Removing gallstones by the methods given below will help to do away with gallstone symptoms that are mentioned above.
Here are some natural ways by which gallstone removal can be accomplished.
- Gallstones removal diet: The key to removing gallstones naturally and without surgery is by modifying your diet. Ensure that you eat a high fiber diet. Foods that are rich in fiber help to get rid of the excess cholesterol in the body. Remember that gallstones are formed due to excess cholesterol in the gallbladder. One easy way of lowering cholesterol is by including soluble fiber into your diet. Make sure you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables daily. It is also advisable to avoid fatty foods and foods that are high in sugar content. Such foods help to increase the amount of cholesterol in the body.
- Warm aromatic compress: Heat 2 teaspoonfuls of sweet almond oil or grape seed over a pot of boiling water. Add 2 drops of lavender and rosemary essential oils to this mixture and remove it from the bowl from the pot. Now massage this mixture under your rib cage on the right hand side of your body. Then put a towel on the area and place a hot water bottle on it. Relax for about 15 minutes and then repeat the procedure. This natural gallstone removal method is not recommended for pregnant women.
- Turmeric is an herb that also helps in gallstone removals. It contains Curcumin which helps to breakdown dietary fats and also helps to stimulate the flow of bile. Add it to the food you cook or even take a capsule of it daily. Use this method with caution if you have diabetes or hypoglycemia.
- Increase your intake of water: This is another natural way to get rid of gallstones. Water helps to flush out the excess cholesterol in the body through sweat. The gallstones will dissolve automatically once the excess cholesterol is removed. Aim to drink at least 10 -12 glasses a day, but not at one sitting. Do this throughout the day.

Olive oil and lemon juice will not dissolve your gallstones. The olive oil may stimulate your gallbladder to spasm and release bile, but you may dispel the congealed olive oil instead of the gallstones. Hence, you experience pain! The majority of gallstones are created from cholesterol due to an imbalance in fatty acid metabolism. There are many herbal and homeopathic remedies to support the liver and gallbladder. To choose the right ones, please seek the advice of a trained health care practitioner. To avoid more stone deposition, change your diet to avoid high saturated fats and support your liver with a high degree of healthy dark green vegetables and liver supportive supplements. Support your body's elimination process through natural therapies and drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces of pure, filtered water on a daily basis. You may choose to have some imaging to determine the severity of your gallstones. In some respect, this will influence the aggressiveness of your natural treatments.
