Health Advice & Remedies for Pimples

Pimples are a common condition faced by many around the world. While it generally occurs at the onset of puberty, it could also affect a person at a later stage in life. Pimples are mostly caused due to hormonal imbalances that take place in the body. They usually fade away in time and do not cause further complications. However, if forced opened or ruptured prematurely, pimples tend to leave behind ugly scars that refuse to fade away completely. Lemons alone cannot help cure pimples. It plays an important role in lightening pimple scars, but is not effective in clearing the skin off pimples. In order to get rid of this skin condition, one needs to adopt a more holistic approach. A healthy diet and balanced active lifestyle can help in getting rid of pimples.

Here are a few effective ways in which you can get rid of your pimples, and prevent their occurrence in the future.

  • Consuming green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits are highly beneficial in maintaining the amount of vitamins and minerals the body requires for its daily functioning. Including these in your diet will ensure that your body remains healthy, thus translating into an improved skin complexion.
  • Drink plenty of water. You should start and end your day with a glass of water, drinking a minimum of 3 liters a day. Water helps flush harmful toxins out of the body and keeps the skin hydrated.
  • Wash your face with room temperature water at least four times a day, especially after coming indoors from a polluted environment. This ensures that the skin is kept clean and free from harmful bacteria. Dry your face thoroughly after washing it, as a damp area is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

Use the following in order to maintain the general health and hygiene of your skin.

  • Avoid bursting your pimple, as this would only help in spreading the infection further. You can soothe the itchiness and skin irritation caused by a pimple by applying some aloe vera juice on it. Aloe vera has many skin healing properties. It will not only soothe your skin, but will also prevent the infection from spreading further.
  • You can also apply a paste made out of turmeric powder, cucumber juice and honey. This will help soothe your skin and heal the pimple effectively. Wash your face after using this application.

Once your pimple has become mature it will break open on its own. At this stage you can rub your skin with a slice of lemon thoroughly. The juice of a lemon is acidic in nature. It loosens the dead skin cells present on the outer layer of your skin. Follow this by rubbing sugar granules on the affected skin. The sugar granules are used as natural exfoliation agents. They will help slough off the dead skin cells that were loosened by the lemon juice, thus revealing a fresh layer of healthy skin.
