How to get rid of dry, flaky, peeling skin from the sole and heel of your feet

The skin on your feet becomes dry, flaky and starts to peel due to changes in the climate or more significantly because of natural exfoliation or expulsion of dead skin from the surface of your body. If you are not in the habit of wearing closed shoes or socks and if your feet are exposed to dry weather or extreme temperatures, the skin on them tends to become dry and peels as a consequence. When you are exposed to extreme climates and your water intake reduces the skin of your feet or other parts of your body may become dehydrated and dry as a consequence. It is therefore important to increase your intake of water and other essential fluids to keep your skin hydrated. Certain kinds of fungal and bacterial infections can cause the skin to become dry and itchy and cause it to peel. It is important therefore to take good care of your feet and hydrate the skin covering them. You can do this by making sure to moisturize your feet everyday after a bath so that your skin retains moisture. A simple home made moisturizer could be prepared with four tablespoons of distilled water, a few drops of coconut oil, avocado oil and olive oil.

Soak your feet in a foot bath prepared with warm water and apple cider vinegar. Another effective foot bath could be prepared with warm water, salicylic acid and lemon juice. After a foot bath, the dry and flaky skin on your foot can be easily removed using a gentle exfoliating scrub. You can also exfoliate the skin on your feet with the help of a pumice stone. If your skin is peeling as a result of a fungal or bacterial infection, you can apply a natural antifungal to help prevent your skin from peeling. Tea tree oil is an effective remedy for dry skin. Apply this oil on your feet every night before going to bed and gently exfoliate in the morning. Apply a mixture made of turmeric, honey, olive oil and powdered sandalwood on your feet. turmeric and honey are natural antifungal treatments and help keep you skin from drying and peeling. Grate a cucumber and apply this paste on your feet for at least twenty minutes to help relieve dryness and peeling skin.
