Home Remedies For Dry Socket Tooth
I had a tooth pulled a month ago and I had been to the dentist 3 times. I had a dry socket but it still hurts, Do you have any suggestions?

This is a common problem faced by people who have had a tooth removed. Long after the tooth has been extracted, the empty place where your tooth lived hurts. This can also cause your face to swell.
Very often this results in your inability to eat certain types of food. This is not a problem that a dentist can help you with and you will have to look around for remedies that work best for you. Alternately, you can simply bear the pain since it will eventually go away. But if this is not something that you want to contemplate, you can try some home remedies.
Applying an ice pack on the affected is one simple way of getting rid of the pain. You can apply the ice pack directly on the affected area. You will also find that regularly cleaning the dry socket helps keep it clean. This will speed up the healing process and help the pain reduce faster. For this you can use a syringe and clean the dry socket as often as possible. If it is too painful, you should not attempt to do it too often. Clove oil is very beneficial in these situations. You can soak a clean piece of cotton in the clove oil and place this on the dry socket. This provides relief. You can remove the cotton and replace it with a fresh one. Chewing on a clove also has the same effect and is not as clumsy as the cotton ball in your mouth. You can also add a pinch of salt to warm water and gargle at least twice a day. Turmeric is another antiseptic that works well. You can mix a pinch of turmeric powder in warm water and use this to gargle. You can also use a pinch of turmeric on a slightly damp piece of cotton and hold this in the dry socket. Massaging your gums with a pinch of turmeric mixed with some common salt can also improve hygiene and help soothe the dry socket pain.
If you are a smoker, you should immediately stop this for at least a few days since this can aggravate the dry socket problem that you are suffering. You should also avoid drinking liquids through a straw or sucking foodstuff in since this can increase the dryness and pain. Even though it may seem as though continually rinsing your mouth will be beneficial, you should avoid doing this. However, this does not mean that you neglect your dental hygiene. If the pain persists and is not reduced by any of these remedies, you should consider seeing your dentist again.
