Sinus infection natural treatment A sinus infection, or sinusitis, occurs when the sinuses are inflamed. This inflammation could be due to viral, fungal, or bacterial reasons. It could also be due to low immunity.
The most common symptoms of a sinus infection are a stuffy or pressured feeling in the head, headaches, halitosis, and cough. The headaches that accompany sinus infections can be debilitating in their scope and you should do all you can to fight the infection and relieve the pain in your face.
The easiest way to drain your sinuses is to sit with either a humidifier or a bowl of steaming hot water and inhale the steam.
Adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil to this oil is also beneficial. You should ensure that you repeat this procedure at least three times a day. If you suffer from chronic sinusitis, consider humidifying your entire home. Make a solution of some salt, baking soda, and water and use this as a nasal spray to decongest your nose. Remember to blow just one nostril at a one go. If you blow both together, you could cause a pressure build-up in your ears which will only push the bacteria further into your system. Despite being a little socially embarrassing, you should also go right ahead and blow your nose regularly to drain your sinuses. Ensure that you drink plenty of liquids and keep yourself hydrated.
