Remedies for Nerve Pain

A nerve pain of any kind can be momentarily relieved by applying ice packs to numb the area for a while. A very effective remedy to draw out the pain from your back is to make a paste of equal parts of cinnamon powder and honey and apply to the area. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then and wash with warm water. You will need to temper this treatment, as it could cause the skin to redden and burn due to the exothermic nature of cinnamon. If your skin becomes too red in color, or burns too much, apply a paste of sandalwood and rose water for relief from the burning sensation.

Sleep without a pillow. You can also massage with warm garlic or mustard oil. You can make a poultice of grated raw potatoes and onions apply this to the painful area. This is another effective way to draw out the pain and give relief. Try to lie flat as much as possible. If you are unable to function normally, wear an elastic belt around your waist. This should keep your back relatively stationary and give it some relief. The best remedy is rest. Once your body is back to normal, you resume your pilates.
