A cough caused either by nasal irritation, smoking, allergies or just a throat tickle is always irritating and one wants to get rid of it as soon as possible. The tickle in the throat or tickling cough is a common complaint and many people are kept up in the night because of this. The best cure is to drink plenty of water because its important to keep the body hydrated in order to thin the mucus and thus eliminate the cough.

In addition, one can also have cough lozenges but stay away from cough syrups since they tend to increase mucus production.

There are many home remedies for tickling cough. Chewing on whole cloves provides immediate relief, as does eating a piece of well-done toast.

One can also mix 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and keep it by the bedside. Incase of a throat tickle in the middle of the night, swallowing a few mouthfuls of this soothe and eliminate the tickle immediately. The “honion” syrup, prepared with 6 onions, ½ cup of honey and water, boiled and strained, consumed warm after ever few hours is an excellent home remedy. Drinking a mixture of hot water, juice of 1 lemon, 2 tbsp of honey and a small stick of cinnamon also works wonders.
