White discharge information

im getting a thick white dischardge from my vaginal area and it itches some times through out the day. Could you help me and let me know what you think

A thick, white discharge accompanied by itching is a sign of a yeast infection. This infection is a result of the Candida Albicans bacteria found in the vaginal region. The inflammation arises when the acidity levels in the area go down due to various reasons, including menstruation, pregnancy, birth control pills, etc.

  • It is important to keep the area clean by regular cleansing with water and mild soap. Avoid douching and keep the region dry. Do not use any deodorants or other irritants. Instead, eat a well-balanced diet and wear comfortable, loose-fitted, cotton clothing.
  • There are some dietary changes that you can try to tackle this infection. First and most easy to implement is drinking lots of clean, pure water. Water is the best detoxification agent as it is easily available and free from any negative side effects.
  • If you are not lactose-intolerant consuming plain yogurt helps. Yogurt is high in Lactobacillus Acidophilus, which is a probiotic (good bacteria) and is great to fight the bacteria that cause the yeast infection.
  • Temporary relief from the itching that accompanies a yeast infection can be achieved by soaking a gauze pad in pure aloe vera juice and applying to the vaginal area. This will however only ease the itching, but not the underlying cause of the infection.
