Home remedy for dry cough A dry cough can often ruin your day and make it difficult for you to get any sleep during the night. You should visit a doctor if this complaint persists for some time since it could be an indication of something more serious. For dry cough you can try sipping warm water during the day.
You can make an infusion with lemon juice, honey and warm water to drink at least thrice during the day. A piece fresh ginger, with some salt sprinkled on it, can bring relief. Just chew this.
If you cannot chew raw ginger, then you should chop it fine and add it to one cup of water. When you boil the water, let it reduce till only half a cup remains in the pot. You will need to strain this before you drink it. If it is too strong for you, add a spoonful of honey to this.
Turmeric, with its natural antiseptic properties, also can help you. You should add a pinch of turmeric to a spoonful of honey and drink this at bedtime. For those who are not troubled by an allergy to nuts, a home remedy that uses almonds is excellent too. Simply soak three or four almonds overnight. In the morning, peel the almonds and grind them to a fine paste. Now add a few grains of sugar to this and eat this mixture.
