Itchy feet home remedies: What can I use for itchy feet?

You may have itchy feet due to a variety of ailments. However, there are only a couple of basic reasons behind these ailments. In all likelihood, you probably have itchy feet due to moisture that has gathered and stayed in corners and crevices of the skin on your feet. This, of course, would lead to a many conditions and infections. But to take care of this, you can start out by doing something as simple as drying your feet with a hair dryer on hot air setting after each bath. You must also soak your feet twice a day for 15 minutes each time in a mix of diluted vinegar and water. Simple white vinegar found in the kitchen will work for this. The vinegar will kill any beginnings of fungus that is beginning to develop in your feet. Alternately, you can use hydrogen peroxide as well. Dilution should be of one part vinegar or peroxide to five parts of water.

You can also sprinkle an absorbent substance like talcum powder or corn starch on your feet in order to keep them free of moisture. Do this before you wear your shoes, as wearing shoes will cause extra perspiration and warmth and will only add to the itching. Try to wash your feet thrice a day with peppermint herbal soap. The strong fragrance of peppermint will keep fungi and bacteria at bay.
