Alternative treatment for removal of unwanted hair

Can you suggest a home remedy for unwanted hair on the upper lip and how to avoid further growth?

Unwanted hair on the upper lip is usually caused by hormonal problems or adrenal gland dysfunction. You should consult a gynecologist, if you suddenly have more facial hair than before or if you have irregular periods accompanied by weight gain and thinning scalp hair. All of these are signs of an underlying hormonal problem. There is no home remedy as such for removing unwanted hair. The hair can be lightened by using a cream bleach or some home remedies, but it can only be removed by waxing shaving or depilating.

Here are some ways to lighten facial hair naturally:
  • Mix dried and powdered orange peels with some milk and apply it on the face. Leave it on for 25 minutes and then wash it off.
  • Lemon juice is a natural bleach, so you can apply some on your face and wash it off after 20 minutes
  • Make up a face pack containing gram flour and turmeric in a water base. Apply it and scrub it off once it dries. This may help reduce the amount of hair on the face.

But quite honestly if you don't find waxing painful, just buy waxing strips and use them on your upper lip. I would not recommend shaving as the hair will grow back very prickly and coarse. If the problem is hormonal, the amount of hair may reduce once you start taking treatment and hair will not get any thicker than it already is.
