What causes itchy dry scalp?
The scalp is made up of closely collected hair follicles that produce thick hair on the head of human beings. A dry scalp tends to be irritating as it itches and can be quite a hindrance to one’s productivity.
There are some causes of dry and itchy scalp that could lead to the development of this irritation. One such cause is infection. One may suffer from an infection which would lead to the scalp being irritated and thus flaking off with ease. The scalp may also suffer from dryness because of excessive exposure to the sun. This type of exposure can damage the cells of the scalp, leading to the scalp being dry, itchy and flaky. People who use too many products on their hair and scalp may suffer from dry scalp as well. It is best to use some natural product to nourish the scalp.
The most common symptoms of dry scalp include skin flaking, hair fall and itching. One can also follow a healthy, nutritious diet to help nourish the hair more effectively. One must drink plenty of fluids to ensure that the body is not suffering from a lack of hydration. Finally, it is important to massage the scalp regularly to simulate blood circulation and keep the scalp healthy.
