Jaundice Cure

by Kevin Pederson

Jaundice is a liver disorder characterized by yellowing of the skin and whitening of eyes. It is caused due to high levels of bilirubin in the body. The bile enters the blood stream due to the blockage of its flow in the intestines.

Due to this, sufficient digestive juice is not available for proper digestion of food in the body. This forms toxins and gases in the body. The condition leads to an over secretion of bilirubin and an under secretion of bile.

Jaundice is the most commonly observed liver disorder.

Causes of Jaundice:

  • Hemolytic anemia
  • Blockage in the bile ducts
  • Acute hepatitis
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Liver cirrhosis
  • Gallstones
  • Malaria
  • Tuberculosis
  • Liver disorders caused by increased alcohol consumption.

Symptoms of Jaundice

  • Extreme weakness
  • Headache
  • Nausea and fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Severe constipation
  • Dull pain in the liver region
  • Intense itching
  • Constant muscle aches
  • Bad breath
  • Yellow discoloration of the eyes, tongue, skin, and urine.

Home Remedies to Treat Jaundice:

  • Bitter Luffa: Squeeze the bitter luffa using a cloth to obtain its juice. Place the juice on the palm of your hand and it should be drawn through the nostrils. Doing so will evacuate the toxic matter and there will be a profuse outflow of a yellow colored fluid through the nostrils
  • Radish leaves: Extract the juice from the green leaves of radish. The juice should be consumed daily for at least two weeks as it induces a healthy appetite and proper evacuation of the bowels.
  • Tomato: You must regularly drink a glass of tomato juice with a pinch of salt and pepper every morning for 8-10 days.
  • Almonds, dried dates and cardamoms: Make a paste of eight kernels of almonds, two dried dates and five small cardamoms that have been soaked overnight. To the paste, add equal amounts of sugar and butter. This should be licked by the patient for quick recovery.
  • Sugarcane juice: Drink twice a day a glass of sugarcane juice with half a lime to hasten the recovery process.
  • Lemon: Drink lemon juice several times a day as lime protects the damaged liver cells.
  • Banana: Consume a mixture of mashed banana with a tablespoon of honey twice a day.
  • Basil leaves: Make a fine paste of 10-15 basil leaves. To it add radish juice and consume it daily for at least three weeks.
  • Fluids: You must consume several glasses of hydrating fluids such as coconut water or carrot juice and eat fruits which have a high fluid content such as watermelons, grapes, and oranges.
  • Foods to avoid: You must avoid eating greasy and fried foods, eggs, milk, turmeric, spicy foods, pickles, and other sour products.
