Myopia is a condition which is also known as short-sightedness and has been a problem area for many people. This kind of condition means that your capacity to see distant objects is not clear and appearing to be blurred. Your vision can be corrected by the use of glasses or contact lenses and also through laser eye surgery.

The eyesight gets blurred when the focus of the light is in front of the retina rather than on the retina. Some of the things that would irritate you are the blur images, headache and tired eyes. The common treatment for myopia or short-sightedness is the use of glasses or contact lenses. It can be worn by anyone from a two-year-old to a 80-year-old. Even though glasses may not be that trendy, people choose to wear contact lenses. You can also get surgery done which include LASIK (Laser in-situ keratomileusis), Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and Radial keratotomy depending upon your individual needs.
