Tea tree oil is obtained from steam distillation of Melaleuca alternifolia, a plant which is native to northern New South Wales of east coast of Australia. It is a unique combination of monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and terpene alcohol which consists of 2.6 % of cineole and 41.7% terpenin – 4 –ol. The terpenoids present have antiseptic and anti fungal properties.
Tea tree oil can be used as an ingredient in shampoos, creams, lotions and soaps.It can be used as a powerful anti fungal, anti bacterial and anti viral medicines. It can be used for certain ailments like, acne, vaginitis, athletes foot, insect bites, nail fungus, against lice and mites.It has a pain killing and wound healing properties and can be used to soothe chest and throat congestion, thus clearing the respiratory tract.However tea tree oil can alter the hormone levels leading to breast enlargement in boys. Pregnant and nursing mothers should avoid having tea tree oil.

Tea tree oil: It is one of the many essential oils and is gaining popularity for both its cosmetic and therapeutic effects. The antifungal and antiseptic properties of tea tree oil are being lauded worldwide nowadays. You can use it to disinfect a wound, insect bite, or scratch, and treat acne and dandruff.
Never ingest it orally as, in its concentrated form, it can have adverse effects, including diarrhea. It is usually meant for external application. It is being widely used in a range of commercially available skin and hair care products. It is also available in the essential oil form in many groceries and stores specializing in cosmetic products for the skin and hair.
Apple cider vinegar: Vinegar, literally `sour wine' from the French `vin aigre', is formed from the fermentation of various grains, vegetables and fruits. Apple cider vinegar results from fermenting crushed apples, such that after the sugars in the fruit turn into alcohol they are further fermented to form vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is said to have many beneficial effects including the tackling of diabetes and obesity. It is found in the health food supplement section of many groceries as well as in the condiments section.
