A swollen lip can be easily brought down by immersing the affected area in warm water. You can try holding some warm water in a small bowl and immerse the swollen lip in this. Hold the finer with salt on it against the swollen lip for a couple of minutes. An application of Aloe Vera gel can also help reduce the swelling. You should stay away from chocolates, tomatoes, oatmeal, whole grains, nuts and peas and seeds. Instead eat light food that cannot cause any problems. Drink water or juices rather than tea or coffee since consuming these will only aggravate the problem. If you are in the habit of eating out regularly, you should stop doing this. Your diet should not include items that contain white flour, sugar and cheese. You should not eat processed food either. Instead you should eat fresh fruits and green vegetables. These should be prepared using a minimum of spices and oil. If you ensure that you diet includes regular amount of Vitamins like A, C and E, then you have a better chance of getting better soon.
