Diagnosis of Varicose Veins: I have black spots on my feet. The doctor says it to be varicose veins. What should I do?

Whether or not you are suffering from varicose veins cannot simply be determined with the mere presence of black spots on your feet. There would have to be more reasons and causes that would lead to the conclusive diagnosis of varicose veins. Some of the other related symptoms of varicose veins are heaviness and swelling of the legs. You would experience this problem on a decently permanent basis if you are suffering from varicose veins. You would also be able to see gnarled and twisted veins protruding from the surface of your skin, bluish or blackish in color. This would be the most permanent feature if you are indeed suffering from the problem of varicose veins. Keep in mind that varicose veins are usually caused due to problems of weight as well as nutritional deficiencies. It is also caused sometimes due to defective valves in the veins. In any and all cases, there are some methods that can be followed to take care of the problem effectively and well. The most important thing is to make sure you get adequate amounts of rest. This is the only way you can successfully beat the pain that usually accompanies this problem.

Massage is one of the best ways to take care of varicose veins at home. If your problem is in the formative stages, then this is all the better. Use mustard oil to massage your legs every single day. Concentrate on the areas where there is a greater presence of the darkness or upraised veins. You should use warm oil for best results. Massaging correctly is also important. You should try to exert less specific and more general pressure on your legs. This can be done by using your palms for the massage as opposed to your fingers and thumbs. Although you will feel that you are exerting more pressure with your thumbs and fingers, this is actually not the correct way to massage. You can also make it a point to soak your feet in comfortably hot water to which a cup of Epsom salts has been added. This can be done in the evenings to relieve pressure from your feet. It will provide relief, as the Epsom salts will absorb the pain away from your legs. You must also try to wrap your feet comfortably in something soft. This is known to have a generally good effect on your circulation and will help with varicose veins as well.
