What are the symptoms of a kidney/bladder infection? After flu for the last 3 days have had lower back and lower stomach pain, fever comes and goes up to 100.6. Also had mild diarrhea and stomach pains. Any home remedies that help?

Symptoms

The indicators of a kidney or a bladder infection would normally be cloudy urine, sometimes accompanied with blood, the inability to urinate without pain, pain and swelling in the lower stomach area, general body ache and discomfort and sometimes, also sweats and chills. Of the symptoms you have described, fever accompanying a kidney infection is quite rare, and things like diarrhea are practically unheard of if there is a kidney infection involved.

It is important for you to know that the flu is a disease that has a very high rate of relapse. You should go back to your doctor and make sure that you have not had a relapse of flu, which is actually what all your symptoms sound suspiciously like. If you are suffering from diarrhea, it is important that you take great care of your diet as well. When you have the flu, you need to focus on eating light and easily digestible foods like soups, thin gruels and porridges, rather than anything too heavy, which your system may not be able to cope with. To take care of indigestion, you can chew a piece of dried ginger for relief from anything else to do with the stomach as well

Home cures

The symptoms you are describing here do not resemble those of a typical kidney infection. Typically, kidney/bladder infection would be characterized by frequent urination, fever, sweats, fatigue, cloudy urine, bloody or pus-filled urine or even urine retention. Sometimes, it could also be abdominal pain or pressure and body temperature that is over 101 degrees. Your symptoms sounds more like a persistent case of the flu. Please do remember that the flu may not always go away at once. It may recur, and repeatedly. Please do check with your doctor to verify if this is what is happening to you.

If you have accompanying mild diarrhoea and stomach pains, it could also be that you are suffering from a weakened digestive system as well. It is important to take extra care of your food intake when you have flu. Eating simple and easily digestible food is very important for a quick and complete recovery. If you are suffering from indigestion, you can chew on a piece of dried ginger. This will help you to take care of the diarrhoea as well as the stomach pain quite effectively. Also, check the food you are eating to make sure that it does not contain cabbage, corn and beans, as these are the main causes of indigestion.
