I need immediate help with severe leg and hand cramps?

Leg cramps occur when the muscles in your hand or leg contract causing a sudden pain. If you are suffering from cramps in your hand and leg, then you should certainly get a diagnosis of your condition from your doctor. Cramps are often indications of other, more serious conditions and it is not advisable to ignore these symptoms.

During cramps you will probably experience extreme pain and find yourself unable to walk or more the affected part. Extreme fatigue, some nerve conditions even excess body weight could cause cramps in your legs.

You will find that the muscles in your affected limb are stiff, even knotted. A massage will work wonders and help you relax these muscles. If you cannot give yourself a massage, you can simply take a long hot shower. This will help your muscles relax. If you are unable to take a shower due to weakened muscles, heat some water. Dip a soft cloth in this and use this as a compress on the affected parts.

You should include food that is rich in calcium and potassium to help overcome this problem. Include a couple of bananas in your daily intake. You should drink at least two glasses of milk everyday and eat plenty of yogurt. Cramps in the leg muscles can often be traced to dehydration and so you should make it a point to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
