What is red wine good for



According to a new study, resveratrol, an organic compound which is found in grapes and especially in red wine, may prolong the life span of vertebrates like fish and humans. This compound when added to the daily diet could also extend such age related problems like memory loss etc. This compound has also been accounted to have anticancer and anti inflammatory properties according to latest research.

Drinking a glass of red wine may help guard against a fatty diet and let the obese live longer and healthier. Wine has been used extensively in Central France to relieve such conditions like rheumatism, gout, hypertension, anemia, dyspepsia, hypotension or low blood pressure and obesity. They have even encouraged wine drinking among pregnant women due to the presence of a wealth of minerals in some varieties of wines like the rouges from Bordeuax.

Light white wines are low in alcoholic content and contain sodium bicarbonate and are recommended for the treatment of dyspepsia. Sweet white wine or red wine is proposed for people suffering from hypotension and hypertensive people should have dry white wine or a red one sans tannins. Nascent red wines or dry white ones are suggested for the obese people. For curing anemia, drink a glass of champagne everyday or go for a glass of red wine, if you cannot take the bubbles teasing your nostrils.
