Low blood pressure and cholesterol natural herbs

Of late my blood pressure has been pretty high (today it hit 165/106). And my cholesterol has always been high (around 265 over hdl 55). Is there an effective of reducing both of these naturally?

Your HDL cholesterol is high which is a good indicator, but along with it your total cholesterol is also high which needs to be dealt with along with the blood pressure.

Try the following remedies for the same -

  • Try to maintain an ideal body weight, this will help to control both your cholesterol and blood pressure.
  • Avoid consuming cholesterol rich animal products like egg yolk, organ meats like liver, kidneys, brain, shell fish, meat and poultry with full fat.
  • Although cholesterol is not present in plant sources if your visible fat and sugar intake is high (especially trans fats and saturated fats from bakery products) then it will ultimately get converted to cholesterol in the body. Remember 75 % of the cholesterol is synthesized in the body and only 25% is through our diet.
  • Have 15 g soaked fenugreek seeds twice daily with the water. As fenugreek is an excellent source of soluble fiber which helps to reduce cholesterol levels significantly.
  • Include lots of fiber in your diet in the form of fresh fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, oat meal, whole grain cereals and pulses. Restrict the consumption of refined, canned/bottled foods, processed foods, junk foods, smoked meat, salted sausages/pork, salted popcorn or chips or nuts and ready to eat foods with high sodium content. Consume a diet low in sodium and high in potassium and read the food labels before consuming any product.
  • Besides food, exercise on regular basis is a very effective way to decrease your cholesterol levels and blood pressure naturally.
