My 2 year old daughter has had head congestion and cough for two months. Nothing seems to make it go away. Do you have any suggestions that might help us?

Home remedies for head congestion

  • Boil a handful leaves in 1 glass of water for 15 minutes. Strain it and give 2 to 3 spoons of this decoction to your daughter fro 4 to 5 times a day. Try and finish this in one day and continue it for 1 or 2 more days.
  • Give her hot vegetables or chicken soups to drink 3 to 4 times daily for at least a week.
  • She should drink a lot of warm water. Twice a day you can add ¼ tsp of honey to it and give her to drink.
  • Cut some pieces of ginger roots and boil in water. Add some sugar for taste and feed your daughter 2 to 3 times a day. You can also extract its juice, add honey to it and give to her once at night before going to bed.
  • Warm a cup of milk and add a pinch of turmeric powder to it. She should drink this at night before bedtime. You can also mix a pinch of turmeric powder to 1 tsp of honey and give to her. Substitute turmeric powder with black pepper powder and feed her.
  • Boil half a container of water, put some balm in it and guide her to inhale the steam by covering her head with a towel. This will clear the congestion and mucus will come out.
