I need a home remedy for bunions can you help me?

The joint of the big toe enlarges and the big toe starts pushing itself against the other fingers of the feet. This puts pressure on the toe joint and often causes pain. It is commonly caused or seen in people who wear tight fitted pointed shoes. But in some it can be an inherited defect, foot injuries, neuromuscular disorders or some other medical conditions. This change in the shape of foot often remains permanent unless corrected by surgery.

To decrease pain and deal with bunions try the following home remedies -

  • Avoid wearing pointed, ill fitted or high heeled shoes. Choose shoes that provide comfort and loads of room for your feet.
  • Tape or pad your foot in normal position with the help of your specialist. This can reduce pain to a greater extent by reducing stress on your toes.
  • To reduce the pain, apply ice packs on the paining big toe joint. Fill some ice cubes in a plastic bag or wrap them in a towel and apply it on the toe and the sides which are paining.
