dandruff is characterized by an itching and flaking of the skin on the scalp. The cells of the skin renew themselves constantly and when new cells are formed, the old cells die off and are shed from the surface of the skin. When dandruff affects the scalp, this process starts taking place faster and as such an increased number of dead skin cells are shed. This causes a pronounced flaking of the scalp. The symptoms of dandruff include flaking, itching, tingling or soreness of the scalp. Dandruff can also result from another skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis which is characterized by the appearance of greasy, large flakes that have a yellowish color. Dandruff usually does not require medical treatment, but in some cases, due to excessive scratching of the head, the scalp may become swollen and tender and needs treatment to prevent further infection.

Dandruff can occur due to various factors such as improper hair care, yeast, dryness of the skin, improper cleansing of the scalp and hair, eczema, psoriasis, allergic reactions to hair products, deficiencies of zinc and vitamin B and stress. To combat the problem of dandruff through natural means, you can try applying a solution of vinegar and water to the scalp. Take a couple of tablespoons of vinegar and mix into two cups of water. Apply this solution on the scalp, wrap a cloth around the head and leave it on overnight. The next morning, you can wash it off with a mild shampoo. A paste of lemon juice and sandalwood oil is also helpful in reducing dandruff. Dandruff is considerably reduced by applying the gel of aloe vera leaves to the scalp. Application of fresh lemon juice directly on the scalp is also beneficial in treating dandruff.

itching and peeling of the lips could occur due to various reasons. You may have suffered an allergic reaction on the lips due to some kind of drug, chemical, food or cosmetic. You need to determine the trigger first and then avoid it completely. Dryness of the lips could also cause peeling and itching. Drinking plenty of water will help to keep the lips hydrated. You can also apply petroleum jelly or aloe vera gel to your lips to keep them moisturized. Certain nutrient deficiencies can also cause dryness of the lips. It is important to have a healthy diet and practice good hygiene. If the itching and peeling continues or increases, then it is advisable to consult a doctor to determine any underlying skin conditions.

Dandruff is caused by yeast known as Pityrosporum ovale. Excessive functioning of the oil glands also causes dandruff. Shampooing everyday eliminates the excessive oil.
Increased dietary sugar, stress and deficiency of B complex vitamins also result in dandruff. Massaging the scalp daily with coconut oil proves beneficial. Listerine is used as a final rinse in eliminating dandruff. Avoid listerine, in cases of bruise or head injury. Leaving aloe vera gel overnight on the scalp is effective. Topical application of cider vinegar on the scalp also proves beneficial.

Consumption of the herb triphala powder (soaked) is helpful for grey hair. A mixture of lemon and coconut oil is massaged on to the scalp for 15 minutes. This helps in maintaining black hair. Itching lips is common due to cold weather, which also accompanies, chapped lips. Keeping them moisturized, throughout the day and before retiring to bed is equally important. Coconut oil is an easily accessible and cost effective remedy. Vaseline or vitamin E oil also proves beneficial. Aloe vera gel or paste helps in relieving chapped lips. Lipsticks wit high sun protective factor or SPF and moisturizers are recommended.
