The most effective form of Yellow Fever treatment includes supportive care, provided by medical experts, preferably in medical facility, like a hospital. Supportive care could include:
- Taking in plenty of fluids
- Getting a steady supply of fresh oxygen
- Maintaining the right blood pressure at all times
- Replacing any blood loss that occurs
- Providing dialysis in case of kidney failure
- Treating any infections that develop
Yellow fever combined with the lack of fluids in the body could cause a disturbance in the balance of electrolytes. When this happens, the doctor may need to administer an intravenous drip. In some instances, patients may need to undergo a plasma transfusion procedure, in order to replace blood proteins, for improving the clotting of blood.
