Prognosis of Pleurisy

The prognosis of pleurisy usually depends on the underlying cause of the condition. In case the pleurisy is caused due to an infection, it is largely treatable. However, if the pleurisy is caused due to serious diseases such as cancer, the prognosis is slightly less positive. It is hard to determine the prognosis unless the cause has been determined. The doctor usually takes some tests and makes a diagnosis before offering a prognosis. The type and severity of the underlying cause is considered for making an accurate prognosis of the condition.
