Kidney

If you have a kidney infection you will probably experience tremendous lower back pain.  In more serious cases, there might even be blood in your urine.

These symptoms are ones that are easily identified as symptoms for kidney infections. Some people can get bad and strong smelling urine and then become concerned. Other symptoms such as fevers, chills and vomiting are ignored and not taken seriously because they do not persist and the visible problem disappears.

Further laboratory tests will have to be done in order to determine the cause of the vomiting before the symptoms can be linked to anything. A kidney disease can run in the family. Individuals that suffer from diabetes or high blood pressure are definitely at risk for kidney problems and should be extra careful.

The kidneys are organs that are in the shape of beans.

These are situated in the centre of the back and sit just below your rib cage.  The kidney is home to a million nephrons. Nephrons are the tiny arrangements that eliminate waste products and extra water that is passed as urine.  The urine runs through the tube-like organs directly into the bladder.  The bladder then keeps all the urine until it can’t hold any more and then you need to use the toilet. If you don’t go to the bathroom when you need to, you are at risk of developing kidney stones.

In kidney diseases that are serious, a transplant is needed in order for the patient to survive.

During a transplant, the infected kidney will be replaced with a healthy one. The healthy kidney will now take on the work of the other two kidneys that failed.  The healthy kidney will remove the use of dialysis. It will instantly create urine the moment the blood runs to the arterial veins.

In some cases, the relocated kidney normally takes about one week before it can work correctly. An individual who has had a kidney transplant takes medicine to stop body from refusing the kidney. Most kidney infections are caused by bacteria and they cannot be noticed in the beginning.

Your kidneys can be protected from a kidney stone, kidney failure or kidney cancer.

Sticking to a healthy diet sure helps a lot, avoid too much caffeine and drink lots of water. Kidney pain is not a nice thing to have and anyone that has experienced it can tell you that.
