Prevention of Hepatitis C

You can prevent Hepatitis C by taking the following precautions:

  • Don't use illicit drugs. If you have a drug addiction, seek help immediately and avoid sharing needles or other such instruments.
  • If you wish to get a tattoo or have your body pierced, go to a reputed professional and find out how they sterilize the instruments. Ensure that only sterilized needles are used. In case you find that the environment is unhygienic or if your questions are not answered, don't compromise, simply go to another place.
  • Do not engage in unprotected sexual relations with multiple partners. The virus may spread between monogamous partners in some cases, but the risk is much lower.
