Information on neuritis

Neuritis is a disorder that affects the nervous system. Neuritis affects the nerves resulting in an inflammation. A single nerve could be the only affected section in some cases while in other cases groups nerves in various parts of the body may be affected. The nerves are affected leading to weakness in the patient. The patient also notices a reduction in his reflexes and also complains of lack of sensation.

People who suffer from Neuritis complain of burning or even stabbing sensation in the nerves that have been affected. If the Neuritis is severe it may also result in lack of sensation in the affected area. Sometimes this leads to paralysis. One of the possible reasons for the development of this condition is believed to be pernicious anemia. People develop this condition as a result of nutritional imbalance. Sometimes a disturbance in the metabolism of an individual can also result in the development of the condition.

If your friend has sustained a serious injury in the past this could have affected their nerves, leading to Neuritis. Some infections like tuberculosis, diphtheria, tetanus and leprosy also lead to the development of Neuritis. Excessive exertion of muscles or injury to these can also result in Neuritis.
