Home remedies for eye arthritis
- Eye arthritis or Uveitis is the inflammation of the eyes due to some infection. In severe cases it may scar the tissues or cause permanent damage to the eyes.
- Take clean cloth and wet it in either hot or cold purified water and put it over your eyes for 5 minutes.
Do this procedure for at least 20 minutes. You can do both hot and cold compress. Warm compress will provide relief from the discomfort while the cold compress will reduce inflammation and itchiness.
- Bilberry or Vaccinium Myrtillus is a herb which is used to toughen the eye capillaries. It also prevents infection and eye-related diseases. It also restores the eye to its normal state.
- Rooibos or Aspalathus Linearis and Sutherlandia Frutescens work as anti-oxidants and help in maintaining a healthy and regular supply of oxygen, blood and essential nutrients to the eye. These are necessary for the rapid recovery from any eye problem.
- Other herbs include Olea Europea, Propolis (this is a bee product), Astragalus Membranaceous and Echinacea. These have been helping in maintaining a strong immune system to fight against any infection.
- At home wash your hands before touching your eyes and never rub them.
- Replace any eye make-up after 6 months and do not share them. If it is the cause of infection then refrain from using them.
- Wash your eye frequently with cold water.
- If the inflammation persists or increases, visit your physician.
