Does hydrogen peroxide help cure athletes foot?

Athlete's foot is a fungal infection that requires immediate attention so that it does not spread on the skin of the foot. This is called athlete's foot because this is usually most common among sportsmen and athletes.

Athlete's foot is caused when you have sweaty feet and when you wear dirty socks or shoes for too long. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the treatments for athlete's foot as it can help clear out fungal strains naturally. However, hydrogen peroxide is an extremely strong chemical and may burn your sensitive feet. You can use the remedy more effectively by diluting it with equal parts of water and soaking your feet in this solution. You can also apply the solution directly to the affected areas of the skin.

There are a lot of different natural cures for athlete's foot besides hydrogen peroxide. A lot of people prefer using apple cider vinegar or tea tree oil for the treatment of the fungal problems. You can use both these remedies by diluting it with equal parts of water.

There are also a lot of anti fungal ointments that you can use to treat simple fungal infections. Most of these fungal creams are broad spectrum and therefore can be used interchangeably with other kinds of anti fungal creams, lotions and topical ointments. For instance, if you have been using anti fungal creams for a jock itch, the cream may also work for athlete's foot. In both these cases, there are over the counter medications that can also be used. If the over the counter medications are not helping, visit a doctor and get a prescription.

Change your socks frequently and wear clean, comfortable shoes. Also make sure that you wear cotton socks that can absorb the moisture in your feet so that they remain dry and you can avoid fungal infections
