Home remedy for peeling feet skin

Feet are usually the most ignored parts of our body. A lot of people do not pay enough attention to the care of feet. Inadequate skincare of the feet can cause dryness and peeling of the skin. Peeling of the skin of the feet is a problem faced by a lot of people, young and old. The skin of the feet is naturally thick and daily exposure to the sun, dust and dirt can cause peeling of the skin. Also the use of open sandals and shoes could result in the peeling of the outermost layer of the skin of our feet. When not looked after, the peeling of the skin on the feet can also give way to cracks in the skin. Cracks on the feet can be very painful and in extreme cases can also cause bleeding. Extra pressure on already peeled skin can cause cracks. Also people with excess weight put a lot of pressure on the feet. This in turn results in the widening of the cracks. In extreme cases the cracks might become too deep and start bleeding. Adequate care and a few home remedies can help get rid of the peeling of the skin on the feet.

First and foremost, it is important to exfoliate the skin of the feet. Heat some water till it is comfortably warm. Pour this water in a tub. Add some salt to this water and some lemon juice. Soak feet in this water for at least 20 to 30 minutes. After soaking the feet, apply some moisturizing lotion on the feet. Use a soft brush or feet scrubber to exfoliate the feet. Do not apply too much of pressure while exfoliating as the peeled skin might get irritated and one might feel a burning sensation. After exfoliating the skin, apply a foot cream or a moisturizing cream. Wear socks so that the skin doesn't peel.

Using hydrogenated oil can also help moisturizing the feet and keeping the skin from peeling. Apply hydrogenated vegetable oil every night before going to sleep. Continue the application till the peeling stops and the skin becomes natural again. Make sure that you clean and moisturize the feet daily. Make it a daily habit. It is important to know that certain skin infections as well as diseases such as eczema and psoriasis can cause peeling of the skin. Hence if the condition persists even after the use of home remedies, it is important that one consults a dermatologist.
