Importance of medical intervention for Priapism is essential to avoid the likelihood of permanent erectile dysfunction. About 42% men with sickle cell develop priapism. Priapism does not usually resolve by itself and the goal of treatment is not focused on treating the cause but to make the painful erection go away. Your surgeon would be the best person to guide you regarding remedies for your condition.
