Skin tags are very common skin growths, which appear in the form of soft and tiny pieces of skin that hang loosely. These skin tags are benign, which means that they are basically harmless growths. Some people are prone to the development of skin tags and may develop anywhere between 50 and 100 of them all over the body, whereas others may not even have one. These skin abnormalities can be seen in both men as well as women; however, as people age, they are more likely to develop them. The most common places on the body where skin tags can make an appearance include the face, eyelids, neck, armpits, genitals and the groin. Although this problem is not a particularly serious one, most people choose to use a skin tags home remedy or undergo skin tags treatment, mainly because they look unattractive. There are also several men and women who worry that they may cut off the skin tags, when they shave or wax and therefore, are interested in options on how to get rid of skin tags under arms and on the face. The most common method of skin tag home removal is using a scalpel, or even a pair of scissors. However, people need to ensure that the blade is sharp and has been sanitized either with hydrogen peroxide or with some rubbing alcohol. After cutting the skin tag, it is normal for a small amount of bleeding to occur, but is should stop within a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, people may experience some amount of pain and discomfort through this method, which is why it is best to numb the area with some ice.

Another one of the most common home remedies for skin tags is the use of liquid nitrogen for freezing them. This is also known as cyrotherapy, where liquid nitrogen is applied directly on the skin tag, so that the cell tissues are destroyed. This method may also involve some pain, as well as scarring. Therefore, it should not be used more than once a week.

When asked for methods on how to get rid of skin tags naturally, many skin care experts recommend tying the skin tag with some thread or a piece of string to cut off the blood supply to the area. This usually causes the tag to fall off eventually. This technique may not be ideal for getting rid of the skin tags on the face.
