Remedies for Yeast Infection & Vaginitis Candida Albicans

The intense itching that you are experiencing around the labia may be due to a yeast infection. This yeast infection can occur due to a large of number of organisms, which are already present in a normal and healthy vagina. More often than not it is caused due Candida albicans which grows normally in a healthy vagina. The acidic Ph environment maintains a steady balance of the Candida and other micro-organisms and hence keeps them from over multiplying and causing infection. The common symptoms include itching, the reddening of the upper thigh and the labia.

There may be a variety of reasons why there is an upset of the ph balance. Normally during menstruation or after a menstruation cycle there may be an imbalance of the ph levels. an antibiotics course can also be a reason for imbalance as some antibiotics kill a organism known as lactobacilli and the death of these lactobacilli allows for the overgrowth of the Candida bacteria. Also sometimes after pregnancy there is a hormonal change in the body and this increases the normal levels of blood sugar , which then serves as food for organisms and allows them to multiply faster.

An effective remedy you use to combat a yeast infection is cayenne pepper. Take about a half a tea spoon of powdered cayenne pepper in bout an ounce of heated water. The mixture is difficult to swallow but is effective. Maintain this, for a minimum of one week, during which you should remember to cut down the consumption of sugar, caffeine or alcohol to the lowest. Another remedy is to bring back to normal the imbalanced ph levels; you can do this by consuming citrus fruits like oranges or fresh limes in the form of juices. Finally if your symptoms do not subside, it is advisable to consult your gynecologist as the infection can become worse and more difficult to get rid off.
