Detrusor over activity advice

What causes the opening of a female's bladder to shrink? Seems like every other year I have to have mine dilated.

Detrusor over activity advice

The opening of the bladder doesn't shrink on its own. The condition is actually termed as detrusor over activity (DO). DO is a common condition referred to an overactive bladder. Detrusor is the muscle which controls the emptying of the bladder, it is an involuntarily muscles which creates a strong, sometimes uncontrolled urge to empty the bladder. Detrusor overactivity is treatable and any symptoms like frequent urge to urinate, uncontrolled urge should be reported to the specialist. Also after menopause the amount of estrogen produced in the body is decreased leading to thinning of the vaginal and vulvar tissue around the urethra which also causes drooping and poor emptying of the bladder. Learn to control your calls, this will help the bladder to stretch but at the same time drink plenty of water to keep your hydration level maintained. Avoid smoking, chewing tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, and acidic foods to help your condition.
