Can drinking too much milk cause UTI's and/or bladder infections?

Eating anything or drinking milk in excess can be the rarest cause for urinary tract infection. Any food or milk would not technically increase the risk of the bacteria entering the bladder. In fact milk products like buttermilk, yoghurt or plain yoghurt are encouraged when a person is suffering from urinary tract infection.

For speedy recovery of the infection along with the medication you can try the following home remedies -

  • Maintain extra personal hygiene. Always wash the rectum and the vaginal region from front to back.
  • Drink loads of water, cranberry juice (cranberry supplements are also effective) to flush the toxins from the body and never hold back the urge to urinate. Also increase vitamin C consumption as it helps to reduce the harmful bacteria present in the urinary tract.
  • Wear clean comfortable cotton panties as any other material would not allow the trapped moisture to escape which often creates a breeding ground for the bacteria.
