Hair Strengthening Treatment and Diet

The average person loses 50 to 150 hairs daily. This refers to shedding. Women often experience more hair loss during their monthly periods or after child birth. This is caused by hormone changes. Stress and extreme dieting are also to blame for hair loss and other hair problems. There are several things you can do to help reverse or at least slow down hair loss.

Probably the biggest thing you can do is take a look at your diet. You need to be getting plenty of good quality protein. Even if you are on a diet, you can get protein from tuna fish, chicken, and eggs. It is also important to take a good multivitamin/mineral supplement. You can make a paste from raw egg and mashed avocado, apply to the damp scalp and let soak for 30 minutes and then rinse with cool water. Be sure that you do not use hot water as this will leave a mess of half cooked egg in your hair! This somewhat gross mixture will help nourish your scalp to help your hair grow stronger. Applying icey cold water to your scalp once a day will also stimulate hair growth as this is your body's way of trying to trap body heat.
