The development of a fever is one of the most common medical ailments to suffer from. Fever is primarily a symptom of the presence of some other medical condition within the body. A fever is actually a very important method employed by the human body to get rid of certain infections from within.
To elaborate, when the immune system detects the presence of some kind of bacteria or virus, the body will attempt to make the environment completely inhospitable for the invading organisms. As a result, it is important to remember that a fever is actually a part of the infection fighting process rather than an ailment that is caused by the invading infection. However, this does not mean that a body fever should be ignored as a flu fever can be fatal if completely ignored. The normal human body temperature is said to be 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit – with anything above this number being considered a fever. However, the condition will need to be taken a little more seriously when it reaches the 101 degrees Fahrenheit mark. There are usually a number of other symptoms of illness that are likely to develop along with a fever and vomiting, joint pain, a cough as well as a sore throat are amongst the more common.
Because of the fact that the development of a fever is extremely common, there are a number of home remedies that help fight off the many fever causes. Triggering mild sweating in the body by lying on a bed and covering yourself with a thick blanket is known to help the body digest toxins and therefore subdue the fever causes. Drinking some amount of liquid will make it a more effective practice. Another method of reducing the prominence of fever causes is to take about 10 grams of raisins and mix it with about 10 grams of fresh ginger. Crush and put some amount of the mixture in 200 ml of water and allow it to sit for an hour. Once done, boil the decoction until only half the volume remains and drink while still warm, after having strained it. Dealing with fever causes will also mean that you make some adjustments to your lifestyle. For instance, increasing your intake of vegetable soup, fruit and fruit juices as well as small but regular quantities of cow milk are known to help substantially. A lot of rest is also essential for recovery.

Fever queries A common fever should typically run its course over two days' time. At the end of the second day, your fever should “break”, that is to say that you should start perspiring and lose heat from the body. After your fever breaks, your body should settle down to a normal temperature within a 12 hour period. If any fever lasts for over week, it requires medical attention. Do keep in mind that a fever is your body's way of fighting something else that is wrong, like an infection or any other kind of underlying problem. Do not be unduly alarmed about a simple fever.
