Swollen Gums and Tooth Infection Treatment

Swollen gums and tooth infection treatment

A tooth infection can cause enormous pain and make your entire jaw ache. You should consult a doctor at the earliest. You can get some relief for the swollen gums by massaging. Use a mixture of common salt and a pinch of turmeric to massage your gums. Do this as often as you can and you will notice a reduction in the pain. You can also use soda bicarbonate to massage your gums. The pain generally reduces in a very little while. Gargling is another effective remedy for swollen gums. You can heat a cup of water, add a pinch of salt to this and gargle. Adding a pinch of turmeric to the warm water before you gargle will also give you relief. Cold water can also be used for gargling.

You can also use clove oil to reduce the pain. Take a few drops of the clove oil on a clean cotton swab and apply to the painful spot. Chewing a few cloves is also an effective remedy to reduce pain. Drinking green tea is another remedy that you can try. Avoid eating hot and spicy food. Your diet should consist of soft food. You should eat well cooked rice, or cereal that has been softened by milk or even bread.
