Meniningitis is simply too serious a condition in its acute phase to be treated by home remedies alone. Please see a doctor at once. I am listing all causes of meningitis below, but I cannot stress enough that meningitis is not a condition to be ignored.

There are two kinds of meningitis. Bacterial meningitis is caused by bacteria and the symptoms are a sore throat, a stiff neck, sensitivity to light, vomiting, headache, fever and/or a skin rash. This is life threatening and needs to be treated immediately

Viral meningitis is not amenable to drugs per se but still requires the supervision of a physician to manage symptoms as they develop. Symptoms are similar to bacterial meningitis but are not as severe. If the meningitis is due to a fungal infection it will respond to antifungal treatment.
