How to make a home enema

The human body works best when all its internal systems work as they should. One such system is the bowel movement. An enema helps in the smoothness of the bowel movement. Enemas are usually given by inserting water into your rectum from the anus. The water flushes out the colon, improving the health of your colon, making it stronger, resilient, and at the same time, emptying it of remnant fecal matter and toxins. It is used to give relief for patients with chronic constipation. An enema is also known as a colon-cleansing enema. It is a method to strengthen your colon by ensuring forcibly that all remnant fecal matter is ejected from the colon.

The basic enema is where water is flushed in and out of the colon. There are some other popular enemas that are also taken. One common one is the coffee enema. The coffee enema specifically targets the liver as the caffeine in the coffee activates the liver to release more bile, which in turn carries out more toxins. The proportion is 2 spoons of ground coffee to one quart of water.

Another enema is the salt water enema. Mix sea salt, not iodized salt, with water and inject that into your colon. Add one spoon of salt to one quart of water. The salted water prevents you from wanting to urinate after injecting so much water. It is also important to use distilled water as tap water contains other chemicals which can have an adverse reaction.

There are other homemade remedies for enemas but should be administered only if you have experience in doing so. There is the yogurt enema which helps patients who have inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, colon cancer and hemorrhoids as the live bacteria in the yogurt helps.

There are lemon juice enemas and a garlic Epsom salt enemas, both of which are known to cause cramping but have benefits too. Then there is the Epsom salt enema which is good for the colon as it increases the amount of water absorbed by the intestines before acting as a laxative. Then there is the milk enema in which you mix warm milk with olive oil and warm water.

Another popular enema is the glycerin and mineral oil enema but is known to have an effect for two-three subsequent days so one should administer this only if you have prior successful experience administering enemas.
