Cure for dry skin patch on chin

You have mentioned here that the dry patch has been there for about four months now but you have not mentioned if you have treated it or not. Have you visited the dermatologist yet? Did the patch occur due to an allergic reaction to any cosmetic product or anything else? You have stated that it started out as a dry patch - do you generally have dry skin or is it just the patch? The dry patch you have mentioned could occur due to several reasons like allergic reaction to a certain product you have used or some skin infection. I would suggest that you do go to a dermatologist and have it checked at least once. The following are some of the conditions where the skin loses its color:

Vitiligo - in this condition the skin loses its pigment and this results in irregular white patches on the skin. It is considered to be an autoimmune disorder; no one knows the exact cause of it. The extent of loss of color due to pigment loss may be different for each person.

Pityriasis Alba - this is a skin condition that is most common in children. There are small patches of skin that get dry and scaly. Its occurrence is most common on the upper arms and face but it could also occur on any other part of the body as well.

There are a few things to keep in mind while taking care of dry skin. Avoid cleaning dry skin with strong soaps and cleansers. Do not use astringent or alcohol based products as alcohol tends to dry the skin even more. You can try a hydrating mask made of ripe mashed banana and honey. Take 1 tablespoon of ripe mashed banana and mix it with a teaspoon of honey. Apply this liberally on the face and neck. Leave it on to dry for about 20 to 25 minutes and then wash off with plain water. This will provide intense moisture and soften you skin making it silky smooth.

You can also try applying a paste made from radish seeds. Powder 35 grams of radish seeds and make a paste by mixing two tsp of vinegar. Apply this paste on the white patches and wash off after it dries.

A pack made by mixing a teaspoon each of mashed avocado, banana and papaya is also very useful for dry skin as it deeply moisturizes and tones your skin.
