What are the home remedies for an Upset Stomach

Most home remedies are consumed orally and many do not actually treat the condition but make it more bearable and speed up the natural healing process. Stomach flu unlike most other disorders is quite hard to address with home remedies. This is because the disorder itself causes a problem of containment, with anything consumed orally being vomited.

There are however some remedies that are still worth a try. Herbal teas can be quite effective, and you can chose from a variety of combinations. Peppermint and ginger are both extremely soothing. Avoid using too much ginger though as this could cause irritation to the stomach. Any remedy with ingredients that can irritate the stomach lining are therefore of not much use.

Stomach flu however does not last for very long and its effects subside within twelve hours at the most. At this point you will just suffer from mild symptoms that cause discomfort and remedies will be quite effective to alleviate the pain and any lingering symptoms.

It's important to keep yourself hydrated and eating fruits like water melons as well as eating cucumbers will help a lot. In addition to this make it a point to drink a lot of water.
