Is there any remedy to improve the size of egg & to trigger ovulation?

Ovulation is that particular time of the female ovulation cycle wherein the ovaries release an egg (ovum) that travels via the fallopian tubes into the uterus; it stays here awaiting fertilization. The entire process is controlled by the functioning of the hypothalamus, which is responsible for the secretion of hormones, namely, LH or the luteinizing hormone and FSH or the follicle stimulating hormone.

The secretion of FSH triggers ovulation, and it is also responsible for the increase in the size of the egg and the ovarian follicle. The ovum is released through a hole in the follicle called stigma, and in case of rupture of the follicle, the ovum is immature and remains small in size, leading to failure of conception. There are various home remedies that trigger ovulation and improve the chances of conception.

Primarily, it has been found that fertility has high correlation with BMI index of the women. It is also noted that dietary changes based on what to eat and what not to eat enhances the chances for ovulation, and those with higher BMI range of 20 and 24.99 face issues with fertility. This creates the need to eat right and exercise.

Home Remedies that Trigger Ovulation

The dietary changes that need to be met include reducing the intake of high calorie foods like fried foods, refined foods, caffeinated foods, alcohol, fatty foods such as pork and beef and sugary foods like cakes and desserts. Avoiding these foods will help maintain healthy weight. Foods that need to be included are green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, whole grains, lentils, beans, and low fat dairy products. It is believed that eating cooked eggplant along with buttermilk regularly for a month may help improve ovulation and increase fertility. Some of the foods that increase ovulation are papaya, hibiscus, drumstick, asafetida, winter cherry powder, yogurt, cheese, eggplant, and green tea. Including these foods in the daily diet for two months will bring about ovulation.

In addition to changes in diet it is important to exercise, drink plenty of water to keep the body hydrated and for enhancing absorption of vitamins and minerals, quit smoking, and stay happy as anxiety, stress and fear can lower ovulation.

While these remedies are not all conclusive, they may aid in better ovulation and greater chances for conception. However, it is best to check with a doctor before making any drastic changes to your diet.
