What are the home remedies for colon polyps?



Complete treatment for polyps is difficult, though their growth is prevented. They are commonly seen in the older adults. A group of cell growth on the colon lining is referred to as a colon polyp. Polyps are cancerous and non cancerous. Cleansing of the colon is helpful in preventing polyps formation. Factors that increase the risk of polyps are high fat diet, over weight, low fiber diet, familial history, colon cancer and smoking.

Typical symptoms remain unnoticed for a few days. Rectal bleeding, abnormality in the bowel movement and abdominal discomfort are certain signs of polyps, calling for immediate attention. Colon health is maintained by regular exercise and proper dietary regimen. Avoid smoking. Adequate vegetables and fruits are included in the diet. Whole grains, cereals, legumes and pulses are included. Ten drops of cinnamon or clove oil is mixed with one drop of flax seed oil. Combine well and consume everyday. Calcium supplements prove beneficial against polyp recurrence after removal. It is taken in the form of calcium carbonate, at a dosage of 3 grams per day. Regular screening, especially after 50 years helps in early detection of colon polyps, if any.
