What Style Does Power Yoga Follow?

Power Yoga is different from other styles of Yoga.



It is closely related to Ashtanga yoga and is based on Sun Salutation. Knowledge of this form of exercise and a fit and healthy body are preferable for performing power yoga. Power yoga poses are also taught in gyms as they emphasize on vigorous exercising and there is nominal amount of chanting of mantras and meditating.



It can be conveniently performed in the comfort of our own homes. Through Power yoga, the muscles along the spine are relaxed and strengthened. It improves flexibility and increases stamina through its various energetic poses.



Power yoga generates a lot of sweat and builds muscles in the body. It is meant for the very agile and swift body types. Unlike other yoga poses, this does not teach moderation in performing the exercises.



Although the newcomers can successfully learn and perform this form of yoga under the guidance of yoga instructors but they will have to be precise in imitating the poses. It is called the aerobic workout because there is no pause between the exercises.

Power yoga is not a substitute for gym exercises although it relieves injuries inflicted due to sporting activities. An intense amount of internal power is created with the help of Power Yoga and there positive changes taking place in the body.
