Main characteristics of Teenagers

Teenage is one such stage in life which is fearfully looked upon by parents and makes the adolescents very difficult to handle and live with.



There characteristics are very different from children characteristics. The most important trait of teenagers is defiance, which tempers almost all their activities.

Teenage problems are very difficult to handle in comparison to kids activities as parents are unable to make them do it physically.



They are not at the hand holding stage and are rather driven by psychology characteristics. Teenagers are easily irritated by the world surrounding them if it does not meet their approval as they have certain half formed expectations of their own as to how others should behave. Their behavior characteristics are very trying for the parents but they themselves are very confused at this time in their lives.



Parents should understand that they require immediate teenage help.

Teenage activities are very different from kids activities at all levels. This is due to the fact that physically they are going through a very difficult transformation which is called puberty. Their hormone levels are changing and this leads to mood swings.



They are unable to fully understand this and take their angst out on others. They do not particularly look appealing and they start hating themselves. Due to their lowered self esteem they try keeping away from others and like to remain in the company of their friends of similar age.



This leads to stress, taking refuge in immoral social habits like smoking, substance and teenagers alcohol abuse. There are other teenagers issues which parents and society have to deal with, like violence, social ostracisation and lack of feelings of belonging.

There is a marked degeneration in the quality of teenagers behavior and to handle this, there are several social help groups. Providing teenage help is not a piece of cake and it is also not very appealing in its implementation but it has to be tackled very sensitively.



Dealing with teenagers can be amicable if we resort to Yoga. It is one such thing which alone can equip teenagers to handle their changing physical health more appropriately and effectively.
